25‑26 SY – 2nd Grade Maternity Leave Long Term Substitute Teacher – Our Lady of Tepeyac Elementary – Little Village – VIC. III

Substitute teaching in one of the Archdiocese of Chicago Catholic Elementary and Middle Schools is a rewarding experience for anyone who believes in the power of education and faith. The Archdiocese’s primary and secondary schools comprise one of the largest U.S. private school systems.

The substitute teacher will monitor students and maintain a positive learning environment while facilitating lesson plans left by the regularly scheduled teacher. An ideal candidate is enthusiastic about education, able to follow direction, hold students accountable, and enjoy working within a supportive team. Bilingual candidates are preferred but not required.

• Implement the regularly scheduled teacher’s lesson plans or consult with the principal if a lesson plan is not provided.
• Maintain a clean, respectful, and orderly classroom, following all procedures as directed by the school.
• Keep attendance records and notes on inquiries and incidents.
• Enforce classroom and school policies and ensure student safety.
• Work with a diverse student population at all grade levels.
• Communicate effectively (written and orally) with students, parents/guardians, administrators, and others.
• Actively support the mission of the school.

• Bachelor’s degree in a comparable field.
• Experience teaching with remote learning platforms.
• Valid state teaching licensure (out‑of‑state licenses accepted).
• 1 to 3 years of teaching experience.
• High school graduate.

Long‑term substitute – $165.00 per day; with PEL – $175.00 per day. Pay is based on education, qualifications, experience, and location.
