The UIC ECE Department seeks tenure‑track faculty committed to excellence in teaching, research, and service. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, mentoring students, and developing a strong, externally funded research program. Candidates are expected to inspire students, contribute to scholarly productivity, and engage with current research trends in their field.
Duties & ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will demonstrate an enthusiasm to inspire students, attract them to the department’s programs, and maintain an active research program that advances knowledge in the field. In addition:
- Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Ph.D. in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Computer Science, or a related field, completed prior to appointment.
Preferred QualificationsPreferred candidates will have a record or strong promise of scholarly productivity through publications, sponsored research, and graduate supervision, as well as familiarity with contemporary research directions and methods in their specialization.
