Salary: The budgeted salary range for the position is $70,000 to $85,000.

Position SummaryThe College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Illinois Chicago seeks an Institutional Research Analyst to analyze data, develop models, generate dynamic reports, and create visualizations directly impacting and informing both operational activities and strategic decision making in matters that serves the entire UIC undergraduate student population. This role supports the departmental, college and university mission of promoting student success, improving policies, informing instructional budgets, and delivering effective, efficient instruction through data‑informed decision‑making.
Work includes the establishment of benchmarks based on historical data to evaluate and forecast future performance as well as monitoring of real‑time progress against these targets across key operational areas, including enrollment management, academic outcomes, and institutional reporting.
- Work in collaboration with college leadership to determine what institutional information is most relevant to the various missions of the college.
- Identify and analyze patterns in institutional data that can inform policy as well as actions.
- Develop analytical models, identify trends and fluctuations, evaluate limitations of data, and specify the range of results needed for financial management planning, budgeting, and resource decisions.
- Extract and translate data into usable forms and narratives, providing colleagues, departments, and other college units with reports and visualizations that support day-to-day operations and inform long-term planning.
- Provide all operational reporting needed by Student Academic Affairs and determine the most efficient and accurate means of disseminating reports. Gather feedback on reports and visualizations and make improvements.
- Monitor student success factors pre- and post-enrollment, including course availability, and alert the Dean's Office to emerging issues.
- Develop and implement more effective data analysis methods to improve operations related to recruitment, admissions, enrollment, retention, and graduation.
- Serve as the College's expert on student data matters, including campus-level reporting and initiatives. Represent the College on advisory committees and play a leadership role in new data-related initiatives in collaboration with campus partners.
