• Establish and maintain a safe, healthy, and nurturing classroom environment.
• Engage with children through meaningful play, early learning experiences, and hands-on discovery.
• Support each child’s social–emotional development with positive guidance.
• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities.

• Build warm, trusting relationships with families.
• Communicate daily with professionalism, empathy, and clarity.
• Partner with families to support children’s development.

• Work closely with co-teachers and directors to uphold school wide expectations.
• Maintain classroom organization, cleanliness, and routines.
• Attend staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.

• Create lesson plans aligned with Goddard developmental guidelines.
• Maintain individual child portfolios and progress reports.
• Support classroom transitions and routines with consistency and kindness.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with children preferred.
• Ability to support a play-based curriculum and engage actively with children.

• A CDA or
• Some college credits in any field with a commitment to enroll in and complete 6 hours of online or in-person courses in Early Childhood Education within a year of employment at Goddard (
  We can pay for this!)
• A Bachelor's degree in an early childhood field.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and meet DCFS licensing requirements.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Passion for early childhood education and a love of learning through play.
