The Hansberry College Prep‑Dance Team Coach will lead the campus dance program, collaborating with the Athletic Director and campus leadership to develop an education‑based, high‑functioning program that enhances student and family experience and supports Noble’s mission.
Coaching at NobleThese responsibilities apply when the program competes in the Illinois High School Association, the Noble League, and the Chicago Public League.
Specific Responsibilities- Create a vision of excellence for the program
- Develop and maintain a system of communication for coaches, student‑athletes, and families
- Meet all required IHSA, CPS, and Noble League compliance requirements, including coach certifications
- Ensure all assistant coaches are fully certified and have completed required background checks before interacting with students
- Follow the Noble Staff Handbook guidelines for all program activities
- Provide consistent and appropriate communication to students and families
- Ensure a valuable student experience for all participants
- Communicate with game officials in a respectful manner
- Monitor team travel to and from contests
- Maintain high standards for team presentation on benches and sidelines
- Adhere to the coaching dress code outlined in the Noble Staff Handbook
- Collaborate with the Athletic Director to maintain program budget
- Coordinate practice scheduling and facility usage with campus leadership
- Coordinate game scheduling with the Noble League and Athletic Director
- Submit the IHSA mandated weekly eligibility reports to student‑athletes
- Interpersonal communication: oral, virtual, and written with staff, students, and families
- Efficiency: organize and manage practice and game schedules that set students up for success
- Technical: create, manage, and enhance spreadsheets for monitoring data, scheduling, and rosters
- Timeliness: meet deadlines for compliance and communication
- Leadership: guide students as an educator through the vision for athletics
- Growth: exhibit a growth mindset for personal and team development and success
Coaches are eligible for coaching stipends, paid at the end of the season. Preference is given to applicants who also apply for full‑time positions at a Noble school.
