Job Summary
The Coase-Sandor Institute for Law & Economics at the University of Chicago Law School seeks a Research Specialist to work with Professor Jacob Goldin on projects involving economic analysis of law-related topics. Tasks will include assisting with the development of research projects, conducting statistical and econometric data analysis, and assisting with the preparation of articles and presentations related to research findings.

Due to the nature of the research conducted under this position, all candidates must be a United States citizen to be considered for this role. The role is intended to operate on a pre-doc model, with the Research Specialist remaining in the role for one or two years before pursuing graduate studies, although this can be extended by mutual agreement.
Responsibilities
- Builds and manages data sets.
- Helps design research studies.
- Codes and implements statistical and econometric analyses.
- Writes and edits research documentation.
- Maintains technical and administrative support for a research project.
- Analyzes and maintains data and/or specimens. Conducts literature reviews. Assists with preparation of reports, manuscripts and other documents.
- Performs other related work as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in a related field.

Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through less than 2 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

Preferred Qualifications
Education:
- Coursework with statistics, econometrics, and/or data science.
Experience:
- 0-2 years of knowledge, skills, and academic and/or professional experience with research projects in economics is strongly preferred.
- Current undergraduate students expecting to graduate in spring or summer 2025 are welcome to apply. The applicant hired is expected to begin working between July 1 and September 1.

- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Competence and experience programming in a statistical software language such as Stata or R.
