Overview
Christ the King Jesuit College Prep, through the Cristo Rey Network model, provides a college preparatory education to high school students from under resourced communities on Chicago’s West Side. At CTK, we prepare students to achieve their fullest potential through the integration of academics, work experience, extracurricular activities, and service. We are proud that, in 15 years, CTK graduates have been accepted to college.
Through the Corporate Work Study Program, CTK students work 5 days per month at leading Chicago area companies. The wages students earn fund a substantial portion of the cost of their education, enabling a quality, college-prep education for students who otherwise would not have access. The program provides work experience, career exploration, mentorship, and networking that positions students for success in college and beyond.
Job Summary – Student & Partner Success Coordinator
Reporting to the Director of Student and Partner Success, the Student & Partner Success Coordinator supports students in their educational development and growth as career-ready young professionals. The Coordinator oversees a portfolio of student work study placements and is responsible for both student learning outcomes as well as corporate partner retention. Through the development of high-impact relationships with students, partners, and families, the Coordinator facilitates student learning and job performance success as well as the success of corporate partners in employing CTK students.
The Coordinator helps students develop and maintain a growth mindset as it pertains to work and utilizes regular performance feedback to help students continuously grow in their work. The Coordinator helps students connect their work experiences to their future college and career goals and works with corporate partners to continuously improve their work with students, aiming to develop partnerships that benefit both CTK students and our corporate partners.
Key Responsibilities Student Workplace Success- Meet regularly with an assigned portfolio of students to build rapport and support students in their work placements.
- Foster a growth mindset, continually setting and evaluating progress toward goals.
- Identify and support students in navigating workplace challenges.
- Help students master career readiness skills and address gaps with supervisors’ support.
- Identify age-appropriate onsite interventions to support student success, collaborating with the Student Development Coordinator as needed.
- Serve as the liaison between student, partner, and family.
- Help students understand how school policies (behavior, dress code, attendance) contribute to work success.
- Enforce CTK expectations to help students present their best selves at work.
- Collaborate with the Career Readiness team to facilitate education-focused reemployment programs for students terminated from CWSP jobs, and manage the reemployment process.
- Coordinate and assist in forming student teams and job assignments based on student and partner requests, assessments, and performance history to ensure successful placements.
- Teach and facilitate learning through Summer Business Training and coordinate onboarding to ensure students enter employment prepared to engage, learn, and grow.
- Collaborate with business partners and supervisors to design company-specific, age-appropriate, student-centered job descriptions that align with students’ personal goals and company needs.
- Ensure supervisors provide timely, direct, and supportive feedback to students.
- Provide excellent customer service to business partners.
- Meet regularly with supervisors to assess performance, troubleshoot challenges, and support student growth.
- Help supervisors improve their effectiveness in supervising CTK students through coaching, mentoring, and participation in orientation, trainings, and appreciation events.
- Collaborate with the Director of Student and Partner Success to ensure job partner retention.
