Position Summary

Casa Central’s Early Learning Academy provides high quality, comprehensive early childhood education services for young children, ages birth to five, and their families. A key member of the program’s leadership team, the Education Coordinator for the Center-Based program option helps ensure that each child receives excellent care and quality, bilingual early childhood education and that teaching staff receive the training and support they need to grow and thrive professionally.

The Education Coordinator establishes and supports a culture of collaboration and reflective practice among educators and team members and ensures the learning environments are rich with meaningful learning opportunities through coaching, training, mentoring, and supporting the teaching teams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities General Duties

Provide training and in classroom support for 17 educators to enhance child outcomes while overseeing overall academic programming to ensure high‑quality bilingual early childhood education. Additionally, analyze program assessment, and complete monthly education reports, and other ongoing monitoring for quality improvement purposes. Ultimately, participate in community and funder‑related meetings in relation to child development and education.

Reports and Metrics

Responsible for analyzing the assessment results and develop strategies to improve program educational goals. Complete monthly reports to track plans, classroom observations, improvements, etc.

Team Management
  • Oversee the overall academic programming, including curriculum implementation and training for the Early Learning Academy (Center‑Based) to ensure high‑quality bilingual early childhood education.
  • Analyze program assessment results (Teaching Strategies GOLD, CLASS scores, etc.) and support in the development and implementation of program educational goals and staff coaching and training.
  • Provide training, supervision, mentoring, ongoing and intensive coaching and in‑classroom support for 17 educators in the Center‑Based program to enhance child outcomes, adhering to curriculum fidelity, a CLASS‑informed lens, and other best‑in‑class practices.
  • Provide support to the director to ensure director‑level site coverage during all hours of operation.
  • Monitor teacher coverage and scheduling within the Center‑Based program to ensure appropriate child‑teacher ratios and active supervision of children at all times.
  • Provide mentoring and in‑classroom training and support to teachers and ensure they have the skills and resources needed to manage a multitude of projects and respond to the diversity of children’s needs.
  • Review the need for education supplies for the Center‑Based program and make meaningful, impactful ordering decisions.
  • Support in the facilitation of Family Child Reviews.
  • Complete monthly education reports, monitoring of lesson plans and check points, classroom observations, and other ongoing monitoring for compliance and quality improvement purposes.
  • Ensure compliance with child development and education Head Start Program Performance Standards.
  • Collaborate with the Disabilities & Wellness Promotion Coordinator to support the mental health and disabilities‑related activities of the program and with individual children and families.
  • Work in collaboration with the Home‑Based Education Coordinators to provide professional development training and support to the ELA education team.
  • Participate in community and funder‑related meetings in relation to child development and education.
  • Serve as a member of the ELA Leadership Team, collaborating with other content area leaders to achieve program goals and support school readiness.
  • Engage in other duties as assigned.
General Requirements

Sensitivity to cultural diversity is required. Will be subject to pre‑employment screening that includes a medical, lift and drug and alcohol screening, as well as aptitude and skills’ testing, where applicable.
