The Infant/Toddler Teacher is responsible for the care, supervision, and management of a class of infants and toddlers following the goals and curriculum plan. The principal duties include conducting focused observations of children, developing action plans, carrying out daily activities and evaluating the effectiveness of child development activities, ensuring safety and well‑being, maintaining regular communication with parents, and contributing to the effective operation of the early care and education center.
Lead teachers serve as ambassadors for the school and the agency.
- Must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or child development from an accredited institution.
- Must have a minimum of an Infant Toddler Gateways Credential Level 5.
- Minimum one year of teaching experience.
- Experience supervising and leading a classroom team in the preparation and implementation of lesson plans covering all developmental areas: language, cognitive, physical, personal, social/emotional, and creative. Ability to explore new curriculum ideas and implement the Project Approach along with the Creative Curriculum.
- Knowledge of childcare routines performed in a timely, hygienic, and developmentally appropriate manner, including diapering, hand washing, eating, napping, and transitions between activities.
- Ability to observe, document, and report child health changes, including injuries, changes in physical appearance, and social behaviors; record accident and incident reports promptly and accurately.
- Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with peers, direct reports, parents, families, and community partners.
- Experience organizing and delegating administrative record‑keeping, including daily attendance, CACFP food forms, health and safety checks, and quality reporting.
- Knowledge of Early Head Start program principles, practices, and cornerstones.
- Excellent computer, software, and database skills.
Salary: $55,000/year.
Schedule:
M-F 7 am – 4 pm.
This is a full‑time exempt position.
$2,500 Sign‑on Bonus available!
