Job Description

Lead Preschool Daycare Teacher at The Goddard School in the South Loop, Chicago, IL 60616. The role involves teaching children from 6 weeks to 6 years in a state‑of‑the‑art preschool setting.

A Lead Preschool Teacher is responsible for establishing and maintaining a safe, healthy and nurturing learning environment. The teacher works collaboratively with colleagues and faculty to deliver the Goddard Developmental Guidelines and monthly school themes.

• Associate degree or higher in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Elementary Education, Child Development or a related field.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in the same fields is preferred.
• Child Development Associate (CDA) Certification.

• Develop lesson plans and activities that support the developmental level of children.
• Meet the individual needs of each child.
• Communicate with parents and collaborate with staff.
• Participate in staff and training meetings.
• Design classroom room arrangement to support learning goals.
• Engage children in play, exploration, and learning experiences.
• Set age‑appropriate expectations and assess student progress.
• Promote self‑esteem, social skills, and teamwork among children.
• Use assessment tools to inform instruction.
• Commit to ongoing professional development.
