Position Summary

The Pediatric Neuropsychologist will be responsible for providing comprehensive neuropsychological assessment, diagnosis, and consultation for children and adolescents presenting with a wide range of neurological, developmental, medical, and psychological conditions. This position involves active participation in multidisciplinary teams across RUMC and offers ample opportunity for clinical program development and scholarly activity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive, evidence-based neuropsychological evaluations for pediatric patients (ages 0-21).
  • Provide differential diagnosis and detailed written reports with clear, practical, and individualized recommendations for intervention, school planning, and treatment.
  • Consult and collaborate effectively with referring physicians, including pediatric neurologists, oncologists, psychiatrists, and surgeons, as well as with patient families and school personnel.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary clinics (e.g., Epilepsy, Concussion, Brain Tumor, Developmental Disabilities).
  • Engage in teaching, training, and supervision of psychology interns, externs, and post-doctoral fellows, contributing to RUMC’s commitment to academic excellence.
  • Develop and pursue clinical research interests, quality improvement projects, and other scholarly activities.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.

    D.) in Clinical Psychology, School Psychology, or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited program.
  • Training:
    Completion of an APA-accredited internship and a two-year post-doctoral fellowship in Pediatric Neuropsychology that meets Houston Conference guidelines.
  • Certification:
    Board Certification or Active pursuit of Board Certification (within two years of hire) by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) in Clinical Neuropsychology.
  • Licensure:
    Current or immediately eligible for licensure as a Clinical Psychologist in the State of Illinois.
  • Experience:

    Demonstrated expertise in the assessment of diverse pediatric populations.

The successful candidate will receive a faculty appointment at Rush University Medical Center, with rank commensurate with experience and academic background.
