JP Architects is a growing, diverse architectural firm specializing in K-12 schools, Higher Education, Governmental, Institutional, and commercial architecture. We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our team in our Oak Lawn or Chicago office located in the West Loop. The Senior Project Manager will lead large scale architectural projects, providing technical expertise, design leadership, and financial stewardship.
They act as the primary client liaison, ensuring design intent is maintained while delivering projects on schedule and within budget. In a growth-oriented firm, this role also involves developing, implementing, and refining project management policies, procedures, and tools to mature company operations.
- Deliver Excellence:Lead projects through all phases, from conceptual design and schematic design through construction documents and construction administration.
- Contract Management:Coordinate contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, and daily correspondence.
- Financial Control:Develop and manage project budgets, monitor project financials, approve invoices, and handle project closeout.
- Risk Management:Proactively identify project risks and implement mitigation plans.
- Quality Assurance:Verify that projects meet required QA/QC compliance, building codes, and zoning regulations.
- Primary Contact:Serve as the main point of contact for clients, building partnerships, and fostering trust.
- Business Development:Participate in project pursuits, including writing proposals, defining scope, and delivering presentations (RFP/RFQ).
- Repeat Business:Cultivate client relationships to secure new opportunities and generate repeat business.
- Mentorship:Mentor and develop junior architects and assistant project managers.
- Resource Coordination:Collaborate with firm leadership to determine project staffing needs.

- Experience:10+ years of professional experience in architecture, with at least 5+ years in a project management role.
- Education/Licensure:Professional degree in Architecture (Bachelor or Master) required.
Licensed Architect strongly required
. - Software Proficiency:Advanced knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam Revu, and Microsoft Office.
- Skills:Exceptional communication (written and verbal), strong leadership, and the ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Accreditation:LEED, WELL, or similar sustainability accreditation is highly preferred.
