Hive Studios is an integrated production business and studio collective, spanning the full range of content production capabilities. Our studios create film, audio, print, photographic, AI, and digital content production, encompassing content origination and a wide range of post-production.
Business Affairs works closely with the Production team, Account Management, Finance, and Creative, and is responsible for preparing and monitoring estimates for all Integrated Content Production for Social & web videos, Radio, Test Production, Stills, and TV Production.
Responsibilities:
- Work with Producers to create estimates for radio, re-edits, test production, stills production, motion content production and digital assets.
- Set up new vendors, issue vendor purchase orders, and process production-related vendor invoices.
- Declare insurance for productions or understand production insurance coverage provided by production companies.
- In partnership with the producer, Issue talent contracts, manage terms of usage and talent payments.
- Monitor production estimates, revise estimates as needed, and actualize estimates at completion of the job
- Review actuals for stills shoots
- Actively monitor and track hours and third-party expenses associated with each production estimate during the production process.
- Reconcile and close production jobs in partnership with the finance team.
- On occasion, produce radio, tv versioning, and print productions.
Skills /
Experience:
- Successful candidates must have knowledge of/experience with the production process, production and postproduction bids and talent estimates
- Must be organized, very detail oriented, work in a fast-paced environment, and handle multiple projects at once
- Problem solving with billing and/or finance issues
- Strong ability to be a team player and take initiative
- Knowledge of SAP/Ariba, Workbook,
- Proficient in excel
- Ideal candidates will have basic knowledge of the SAG/AFTRA/AFM Commercial contracts and understand union rate benchmarks when negotiating non-union payments.
- Ability to interact with internal and external clients and client’s cost consultants
