Summary
The Copy Editors are in charge of proof reading the entire paper before publication and will also assist Xavierite staff members in improving the writing style of their articles before publication.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- In charge of proof reading all articles that will run in The Xavierite publication and on the official website following AP style.
- Proof reads rough draft tear sheets of the newspaper and magazine.
- Assists staffers with writing and style of article when necessary.
- Informs Editor‑in‑Chief when stories are not turned in on time.
- Attends general staff meetings.
- Maintains weekly-posted office hours in The Xavierite office (5 hours per week).
- Checks and edits content for accuracy of style throughout the entire paper and e‑magazine.
- Checks for libelous and litigious statements.
- MUST BE A STUDENT AT SAINT XAVIER UNIVERSITY
- Must be Federal Work Study Eligible
- Must Include a Resume and Cover Letter
- Preference in journalism, communication, or English.
