Pay Rate: $30/hour–$36/hour

Duration: 2 months

Hours: 8:30AM–5PM

Location: Chicago, IL 60637 (Hybrid – onsite one day per week: Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday)

We are seeking a detail-oriented Proofreader to review written transcripts and ensure accuracy in spelling, grammar, punctuation, and formatting. This role requires strong language proficiency and the ability to collaborate closely with editors, authors, typists, and other proofreaders to maintain high-quality written content.

• Review transcripts for spelling, grammatical, and typographical errors
• Ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency in written materials
• Correct punctuation, formatting, and language usage as needed
• Collaborate with editors, authors, typists, and other proofreaders to clarify content and ensure accuracy
• Communicate feedback and suggested edits clearly and professionally
• Maintain a high level of attention to detail when reviewing written documents
• Follow established proofreading standards and editorial guidelines

• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities
• Ability to work collaboratively with editorial and production teams
• Proficiency in reviewing and editing written documents

High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework in English, communications, journalism, or a related field preferred
