CBS Chicago, the #3 market station in the Paramount portfolio of television stations, is looking for a dynamic, innovative and experienced meteorologist to join our First Alert Weather team.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and deliver live or recorded weather reports and forecasts for linear, streaming and digital platforms. Deliver severe weather reporting as needed.

Analyze weather data and synthesize the information into clear, easy-to-understand graphics.

Present weather casts from our VR weather sphere, the news studio or on-location.

Requirements:

A degree in Atmospheric Science or Meteorology

Must be skilled with telling a comprehensive and clear weather story, especially during extreme weather events

Must be willing to work a flexible schedule.

Must be skilled at posting weather-related information on social media channels

Must have 5+ years of related experience

NWA and/or AMS Certified meteorologist preferred

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
