Location: Upbeat Music (3000 S Wentworth, Chicago, IL)
Position: Part-time (flexible teaching hours)
Reports To: Studio Director

About Us

Upbeat Music is a vibrant music lesson studio dedicated to inspiring students of all ages and ability levels. We offer private and group instruction in piano, guitar, violin, drums, voice, and more — fostering musical growth, confidence, and joy in our community.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Piano Teacher with a strong musical background and exceptional interpersonal skills to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching, comfortable instructing both private and group lessons
, and capable of engaging students in a supportive and motivating environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality piano lessons tailored to individual student goals and levels (beginner through advanced).
  • Lead and manage engaging group piano classes with enthusiasm and clarity.
  • Create lesson plans that incorporate technique, theory, and musical expression.
  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to students and parents.
  • Prepare students for recitals, performances, and exams as needed. (
  • Maintain excellent communication with families and studio leadership.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Music, Music Education, Piano Performance, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Proven experience teaching piano in both private and group settings
    .
  • Strong knowledge of piano technique, music theory, and a variety of musical styles.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills — able to connect with students of all ages and their families.
  • Friendly, patient, adaptable, and committed to fostering a positive learning environment.
  • Availability for evenings and weekends is a plus.
