Trope Publishing Co. is seeking a Junior Graphic Designer to support our marketing and design teams for our growing book and print business. The Junior Graphic Designer will work closely with Trope’s marketing and design teams to design and produce marketing related graphics, including website imagery, social media and email graphics, product images, etc., as well as additional marketing collateral such as brochures, catalogs, sell sheets, and presentation decks for Trope’s book publishing program.
The successful candidate will have a strong interest in marketing design; an understanding of multi-page print design (books, zines, or catalogs) is a plus. This in-person position is based in Chicago.
- Work closely with the marketing, editorial, and design teams to create and produce marketing-focused digital assets across channels, including website graphics, product images, social media graphics, and email newsletters
- Support ongoing website updates by designing and optimizing visual assets, including product imagery, banners, and promotional graphics
- Design and update marketing collateral such as book brochures, seasonal sales catalogs, sell sheets, proposal decks, and other branded materials
- Create sales presentations and visual assets that support partnerships, wholesale, and business development efforts
- Adapt existing designs and campaign concepts across multiple formats and platforms while maintaining brand consistency
- Product photography of books for marketing, website, and sales use
- Working with the larger marketing team, support launches, campaigns, and seasonal initiatives
- Perform other related duties and contribute to special projects as assigned
- 1-2 years relevant work experience (graphic design, digital design, etc)
- Strong layout and typographic skills
- Computer proficiency including the Microsoft Office Suite and Mac OS
- Adobe Suites proficiency including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Adobe Acrobat
- Ability to work collaboratively and adapt work based on constructive feedback
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must have the ability to plan ahead and juggle priorities across multiple projects with a meticulous eye for detail
