Project Manager – Mechanical Construction (Special Projects Team)

A well-established mechanical contractor is looking to add a Project Manager to their Special Projects team supporting work throughout the Greater Chicago area
. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment managing multiple smaller-to-mid-sized mechanical projects and enjoys seeing projects through from preconstruction to closeout.

This team focuses on high-quality mechanical projects typically valued up to $7M, including HVAC, piping, and plumbing scopes across a diverse mix of commercial and institutional facilities.

• Manage multiple mechanical construction projects from kickoff through closeout
• Oversee HVAC, piping, and plumbing scopes including scheduling, procurement, and subcontractor coordination
• Maintain project budgets, track costs, and ensure projects stay on schedule
• Work closely with field teams, foremen, and superintendents to drive project execution
• Participate in preconstruction planning, estimating support, and value engineering
• Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, engineers, and subcontractors
• Ensure all work meets quality, safety, and contractual standards

• 5+ years of experience managing mechanical construction projects
• Background in HVAC, mechanical piping, and plumbing systems
• Experience on commercial and light industrial projects
• Project experience in sectors such as healthcare, education, manufacturing, institutional, and commercial facilities
• Strong understanding of project scheduling, budgeting, and cost control
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a special projects environment
