I'm currently partnering with a well-established commercial construction firm in the Chicago market that's looking to add a Superintendent to their project team. This is a role for someone who takes ownership. The person stepping into this position will lead the job site from the first shovel in the ground through final closeout -- driving schedule, managing subcontractor relationships, and keeping every moving piece on track.
What You'll Be Responsible For
- Leading day-to-day field operations across the full project lifecycle, pre-con through completion
- Managing project schedules and holding trades accountable to timeline
- Serving as the primary on-site point of contact for subcontractors, clients, and stakeholders
- Identifying bottlenecks early and solving problems before they become delays
- Participating in pre-construction meetings, scope reviews, and value engineering discussions
- Maintaining quality, safety, and productivity standards on site
- Building and protecting strong client relationships from kickoff through closeout
What They're Looking For
- 3+ years of experience as a construction superintendent or similar field leadership role
- Strong subcontractor management and scheduling experience
- Proficiency in Procore and Microsoft Project preferred
- Ability to read drawings and specs and identify critical path items
- Excellent communicator across all levels -- trades, clients, and executive leadership
- Detail oriented and solutions-driven in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field preferred, not required
Ground-up commercial experience in an urban environment is a strong plus.
