Data Center Construction Project Manager – Chicago, IL

We are looking for a Data Center Construction Project Manager to support critical facility construction projects. The Construction PM will be responsible for all aspects of managing a data center construction project, including providing leadership to contractors and vendors. Project assignments are regional. The candidate will have overall responsibility for delivering assigned projects on budget and on time, ensuring the project scope and quality meet Company Design Standards and project objectives.

The successful candidate will need to be exceptionally organized and proficient with back‑office work (change orders, budgets, paperwork, etc.).

• Plan and organize large scale data center construction projects (no less than $30M)
• 10–15 years of experience managing data center construction projects
• Develop Critical Facilities Construction Project plans – size up, costs, scheduling, timeline
• Maintain liaison with primary client, A/E firm, Owner’s Rep firm, and other vendors to facilitate construction activities
• Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within corporate policies. Put these in clear concise work statements for the field
• Manage financial aspects of contracts (progress billing, rental equipment, income/expenses) to protect the company’s interests and maintain a good relationship with the client
• Oversee MEP portion of the project

• Experience managing Data Center Construction Projects with a design/build firm from ground up and also existing data center fit outs
• Relevant experience in the Data Center Construction Industry
• Experience managing Data Center Construction Projects with budgets between $25MM to $100MM+
• Client facing / Client relationship / Client management skills
• Must be familiar with the design process of building systems for data center and mission critical projects
• Business Development experience; previous experience creating RFPs and RFIs
• Solid Project management construction experience
• Previous military/military veterans in all branches with electrical / mechanical experience is a plus
