Safety Manager (Drilling)
Aldridge Electric is looking for a Safety Manager to join our Utility team. The Safety Professional serves in a dual role: providing consultative support, guidance, and motivation to operations management and employees at all levels, while working hand‑on with management to deliver various safety initiatives and programs. The goal is an Incident and Injury Free (“Nobody Gets Hurt”) culture throughout all work performed by Aldridge.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Promote and steward our organization’s Incident and Injury Free (IIF) culture and Core Values.
- Provide Operations Management with effective safety coaching, counseling and advice, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment for all employees, customers and the public.
- Assist Talent Management in ensuring specific safety training is conducted based on scope of work as it relates to transportation operations management.
- Act as a safety motivator for management and employees, keeping safety active in the culture at Aldridge.
- Provide safety subject‑matter expertise and implement the most relevant and effective internal and external safety practices.
- Review each Subcontractor’s Safety Program and ensure it meets or exceeds the Project Safety Program requirements.
- Conduct mini‑gap analyses on current safety policies, procedures and standards; recommend changes to drive continuous improvement.
- Conduct site visits to monitor and assess execution of the Aldridge Safety Management System.
- Assist in preparing monthly Craft Voice In Safety (CVIS) meetings and drive continuous improvement within the corrective actions process.
- Participate in Root Cause Analysis, following the Aldridge Incident Investigation Policy, and verify that corrective actions are implemented and sustained.
- Support Project Teams during kick‑off meetings and help develop a safe plan of execution.
- Assign and communicate safety expectations to all project employees.
- Ensure required training is proactively identified and scheduled; select appropriate toolbox talk topics.
- Verify that all safety documentation is captured, organized and filed at the jobsite.
- Travel to multiple projects throughout the region to provide operations support.
- Implement safety systems and processes for new project start‑ups.
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Occupational Safety and Health, Human Factors, Construction Management or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3–5 years of direct experience in construction safety and occupational health.
- Willingness to travel.
- Valid Professional Certificate (CSP, ASP, CHST, OHST & CUSP).
- Strong hazard identification and corrective recommendation skills.
- Excellent management, leadership and interpersonal skills with verbal and written communication proficiency.
- People‑oriented personality and ability to “sell” safety programs to field personnel.
- Knowledge of construction safety, current federal and OSHA requirements.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
- Detail oriented with ability to recognize discrepancies and communicate solutions.
- Strong work ethic – willing to do what it takes to get the job done.
- Team player who can work independently as well.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite 2010 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Annual base pay ranging from $90,000 to $135,000 (subject to change).
- Potential vehicle allowance and bonus.
