Senior Level Cost Estimator

Location:

Chicago, IL (Hybrid - Chicagoland area, remote option with quarterly office visits).

Employment type:

Full‑time, Permanent.

Base salary: $100,000 – $145,000 per year, plus competitive bonus and benefits.

We have been around for over 20 years as a construction consulting firm focused on helping our clients create the most competitive bid in the market. We partner directly with Owners, Developers, Architects, and General Contractors to deliver accurate cost estimates before projects go to bid. Our growth of 75% in the last year has positioned us to continue expanding, and we are looking for a Senior Cost Estimator to help drive that success.

• Conduct detailed quantity take‑offs and prepare cost estimates for construction projects across all CSI divisions.
• Evaluate and analyze data to forecast the cost, size, and duration of future projects accurately.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to understand project requirements and develop accurate cost estimates.
• Prepare and present cost reports and analyses to senior leadership, providing insights and recommendations to guide decision‑making.
• Review and update existing cost estimating tools and methodologies to ensure their accuracy and effectiveness.
• Identify and mitigate potential risks to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of industry trends, market conditions, and construction materials to inform cost estimation.

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in cost estimation within the construction industry, preferably at an estimating consulting firm.
• Proven experience with quantity take‑offs and estimating across all CSI divisions.
• Exceptional analytical skills with a strong eye for detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, able to convey complex information to a variety of stakeholders.
• Proficiency in industry‑standard cost estimating software and tools.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Professional certifications such as Certified Cost Professional (CCP) or Certified Estimating Professional (CEP) are a plus.
