Job Title - Resident Project Representative

Location - Harvard, Illinois

Job Type - Onsite

Stanley Consultants is seeking a Resident Project Representative with construction experience to work in Harvard, IL. The role involves acting as a Field Engineer on infrastructure projects, supporting the Resident Engineer, and potentially working on IDOT/CDOT/ISTHA projects. Responsibilities include daily on-site observation of construction work, managing these observations through team members, and ensuring compliance with project plans and specifications.

What You Will Be Doing:
  • Preparing reports, coordinating progress meetings, managing shop drawing reviews, and certifying contractor payrolls.
  • Monitoring internal project budgets.
  • Ensuring compliance with Stanley staff safety policies.
  • Resolving contractor questions and clarifications.
  • Maintaining active client communication and assisting with marketing and proposals.
  • Providing support to various departments as needed.
  • Required Qualifications:
  • At least 6 years of experience in engineering or construction management.
  • Strong visualization, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Knowledge of construction techniques and ability to read plans and specifications.
  • Ability to mentor others and temporarily fill the roles of Construction Manager/Resident Engineer.
  • Active participation in professional organizations or internal committees.
  • Specific expertise in areas such as Traffic Control, Material Testing, Structural Welding, etc., may be required based on project needs.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with IDOT/ISTHA/CDOT projects.
  • Leadership experience with team members.

  • Physical Demands:

    The role requires working on construction sites in various weather conditions, lifting up to 50 lbs., and possibly climbing ladders or scaffolding. Heights or confined spaces may pose challenges.

    Other:

    Some out-of-town work may be required with provided per diem and housing. Work hours are variable based on project activities.
