Welcome to Irving Park Early Learning Center, “IPELC”! Our family-owned childcare centers have been in business since 1999, and honor the “learn through play” and "nurturing the whole child" philosophy. We serve children ages 6 weeks - 5 years old. We currently have two Chicago locations (Whipple and Sacramento) situated directly across the street from one another, supported by a dedicated leadership team and a tenured, close-knit staff community.
Locations and hours:
- IPELC - Whipple (3023 West Montrose) — 7:00am to 6:00pm
- IPELC - Sacramento (3000 West Montrose) — 7:00am to 5:30pm
IPELC is looking for passionate Assistant Teachers to join our program. Hours offered for this position from Monday through Friday may be as follows:
- 7:00am-1:00pm (part-time: floater position only)
- 8:00am-5:00pm
- 8:30am-5:30pm
- 11:00am-6:00pm
This position may require flexibility in shifting tasks throughout the day, and exposure to all classroom ages on a changing basis.
Teachers must live within a 5 mile radius of our locations, and have a reliable transportation method.

- Expert fluency in English on a reading, writing, and speaking level
Academic Requirements:
- Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent
- First Aid & CPR certified or willing to obtain certification
- Food Handler certification or willingness to obtain
Job Responsibilities:
- Physical ability to stand, bend, squat, jump, dance, walk, run, reach, carry, lift up to 50 lbs
- Provide toileting and diapering assistance to children in adherence to state standards
- Consistently maintain cleanliness and order of the classroom environment (mopping, sweeping, dusting, laundry, trash removal)
- Send messages, photos, and updates to parents through the app for each attending student in the assigned classroom
- Ability to redirect students and promote self-regulation in a kind and considerate manner
- Uphold mandated uniform expectations
- Uphold and maintain classroom, position, and behavioral standards in adherence to DCFS and company policy
- Consistent in punctuality and attendance
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to support Lead Teachers in behavioral and academic processes within the classroom
- Additional responsibilities as instructed by supervisor
