About The Department

The Center for RISC investigates today’s social issues by combining unconventional perspectives with empirical data to generate radical solutions with real-world relevance. We test and scale these solutions through partnerships with academics, nonprofits, government agencies, international organizations, and private corporations. We’re focusing on building and scaling Project Donor, Foster Insights, and The Levitt Lab.

Job Summary

The Center for Radical Innovation for Social Change (RISC) is hiring Analysts with diverse skills and backgrounds to tackle the world’s biggest problems. Our analysts come from data science, economics, engineering, philosophy, journalism, software development, political science, and related fields, with experience in research, consulting, tech, venture capital, and policy. Analysts identify pressing social issues, propose promising solutions, and pilot interventions in partnership with field-experts.

They also contribute to our ventures based on interests and expertise.

We value clever ideas and the hustle to implement them. We seek hires who are eager to learn, embrace calculated risk, and are excited to make an impact, especially in Project Donor, Foster Insights, and The Levitt Lab.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to projects in our portfolio of established social impact ventures. Roles may include data analysis, software engineering, case management, operations, and related tasks.
  • Engage with social problems by conducting literature reviews, speaking with experts and potential pilot participants, analyzing data, and reviewing news and media.
  • Identify constructive approaches to hard problems and present findings to colleagues, partners, and funders.
  • Pilot new and unconventional solutions, either with outside partners or within RISC, including prototyping products, designing incentive structures, and launching pilot programs.
  • Participate in RISC culture through team brainstorms, lunch-and-learns, and ad hoc tasks such as RISC hiring.
  • Maintain technical and administrative support for a research project.
  • Analyze and maintain data and/or specimens; conduct literature reviews; assist with preparation of reports and manuscripts.
  • Perform other related work as needed.
