Portfolio Operations / Value Creation Consultant

Location: Remote (US)
Type: Contract (project-based, typically 3-12 months, extendable)
Compensation: Competitive, commensurate with experience (high-end for PE consulting)
Overview: Join our team to work hands‑on with PE-backed portfolio companies, driving operational improvements, implementing value creation playbooks, and delivering rapid EBITDA uplift. You will partner directly with portfolio leadership to identify and execute high‑impact initiatives in operations, supply chain, cost optimization, process efficiency, and performance management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct operational diagnostics and assessments to uncover performance gaps and value creation opportunities.
• Develop and execute 100‑day plans, turnaround strategies, and long‑term transformation roadmaps.
• Lead cross‑functional projects in lean transformation, supply chain optimization, working capital reduction, and revenue enhancement.
• Collaborate with PE sponsors and portfolio executives to track KPIs, measure impact, and report progress.
• Apply VDS's proprietary Value Driven Approach® and Enterprise Operating System to drive sustainable results.

Requirements:

• 8+ years of experience in operations consulting, portfolio operations, or interim executive roles, ideally with PE‑backed companies or firms like Alvarez & Marsal, BCG, Bain, or McKinsey.
• Proven track record of delivering 20‑30%+ EBITDA improvements or similar operational gains.
• Strong background in manufacturing, distribution, or service industries preferred.
• Excellent project management, stakeholder influence, and analytical skills.
• Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• Willingness to engage deeply with portfolio companies (virtual and occasional on‑site as needed)
