Corporate Counsel will report directly to the General Counsel. This high-visibility, second-chair role supports acquisitions, development, financing, and portfolio management across a diverse asset base in Chicago.
Highlights- Direct exposure to the General Counsel, CEO, and executive leadership
- Opportunity to work across the full real estate lifecycle, from acquisition and financing through development, operations, and disposition
- High-growth platform with meaningful responsibility and business-facing involvement
- 4 days in-office
- Discretionary bonus structure
- Lead and support acquisitions and dispositions, including negotiation of purchase and sale agreements, oversight of diligence, and coordination with outside counsel
- Handle construction and permanent financing, joint ventures, and investor transactions, including loan documentation and compliance matters
- Assist with ownership structuring and governance, including drafting operating and partnership agreements
- Negotiate operational agreements, including property management, construction, vendor, consultant, and technology contracts
- Improve legal operations through template creation, systems implementation, and process optimization
- 4-7+ years of commercial real estate experience
- Strong background in acquisitions and financing; development experience is a significant plus
- Litigation exposure is helpful but not required
- Business-oriented mindset with strong financial literacy and commercial judgment
- Confident communicator comfortable working directly with executives and stakeholders at all levels
