Aboutthe Role
M&A Science is looking for an Executive Assistant to work directly with the founder as the company scales. This is a hands‑on role that blends executive support with founder‑led sales operations — making it ideal for someone early in their career who wants real exposure to startup growth, business development, and relationship‑driven sales.
The pace is fast, the expectations are high, and the right person will thrive in that environment.
What You'll Do Founder Sales Support (~75%)- Support founder‑led outreach—drafting messages, DMs, and follow‑ups across a professional network of thousands of M&A practitioners
- Schedule and coordinate meetings with prospects, partners, and key industry contacts
- Capture and organize meeting notes, takeaways, action items, and follow‑ups
- Manage and maintain the founder's professional network as a strategic asset—tracking relationships, conversations, and engagement over time
- Coordinate outreach and logistics for in‑person events, dinners, and conferences
- Monitor the sales pipeline — tracking who's in play, what needs follow‑up, and what's gone cold
- Book reservations, appointments, events, and classes
- Handle light scheduling and logistics for travel and personal commitments
- Manage the day‑to‑day tasks that come with supporting a high‑output founder
- Extremely organized. This is the #1 requirement. You bring structure to chaos and build systems to keep things running.
- Proactive. You don't wait to be told what to do. You anticipate needs and take action.
- Optimistic and high‑energy. You bring a positive attitude and match the intensity of a fast‑moving founder.
- Curious about AI and automation. M&A Science uses tools like N8n, AI assistants, and workflow automation daily. Deep expertise isn't required, but a genuine appetite to learn and adopt new tools is essential.
- Comfortable with ambiguity. This is a startup. Priorities shift. Context changes. You adapt without missing a beat.
- 2–3 years of experience in an executive assistant, sales support, operations, or similar role. This hire is based on potential, not pedigree.
- Location: Chicago, IL — hybrid, mostly remote for now
- Compensation: $50,000 – $60,000
- Team: Small, sharp, and high‑impact — you'll work directly with the founder from day one
