Position: Sr Business Manager, Global Payment Network

Overview

Responsibilities
  • Strategic leadership:
    Develop business strategies that drive growth, profitability, and competitive success for Capital One in the face of shifting consumer and regulatory behavior.
  • Business ownership:
    Maintain an ownership mindset, with potential P&L accountability for a business segment and strategic planning with a 1–6 month horizon.
  • Leadership:
    May manage and develop a team of analysts; coach and mentor associates to develop and retain talent.
  • Product:
    Develop and implement new product and pricing strategies for various lending products; lead product-level modeling and analytics.
  • Marketing:
    Lead direct-to-consumer marketing efforts for select products and strategic intent for products distributed through various channels; build targeted insights to inform design and development of customer experiences and new go-to-market strategies.
  • Credit Risk:
    Drive improvements in credit performance by linking drivers of future consumer credit trends to historical behavior, creating risk models, and testing hypotheses with rigorous monitoring and analysis.
  • Execution:
    Coordinate across lines of business to deliver on business intent, build requirements, and execute against product strategy; oversee multiple projects and programs concurrently.
  • Partnership:
    Collaborate with IT, Sales, Operations, Finance and others to drive improvements in quality, volume, service, and profitability.
  • Strategic & analytic orientation:
    Demonstrate a track record of analytics-based decision making and problem solving; combine conceptual thinking with strong quantitative skills.
  • Leadership and integrity:
    Be a tenacious decision maker with a responsible, professional approach to business.
  • People leadership:
    Build and leverage a high-performing team and business partners; foster innovation, drive critical decisions, and deliver results.
  • Executive communication:

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative field (Business, Math, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Science, Engineering).
  • At least 2 years of experience in quantitative analysis.
  • At least 2 years of experience in qualitative analysis.
  • At least 1 year of people management experience.
  • At least 1 year of project management experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Business or quantitative fields (Finance, Economics, Physical Sciences, Math, Statistics, Engineering).
  • 5+ years of experience in quantitative analysis.
  • 5+ years of experience in qualitative analysis.
  • 2+ years of experience in people management.
  • 2+ years of experience in product development.
  • 2+ years of experience in financial modeling.
  • 2+ years of experience in economic forecasting.
  • 2+ years of experience in project management.

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location, and refer to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based on hours worked.

  • McLean, VA: $193,000 - $220,300 for Sr. Business Manager
