CompensationExempt position. Monthly base salary $3,900 during the probationary period; base rate increases to $4,333 per month upon successful completion. Earn uncapped commission, generous bonuses, medical, vision, dental coverage, generous PTO, and 401(k).
Role SummaryAs the first point of contact, the Merchant Consultant serves as a brand ambassador, introducing Universal Processing’s business solutions to clients. The ideal candidate is goal‑driven, resilient, people‑oriented, and committed to community growth.
Responsibilities- Generate leads, conduct cold calls, and prospect potential clients.
- Conduct in‑person meetings to assess customer needs and present customized payment, merchant financing, and marketing solutions.
- Perform pricing analysis by reviewing clients’ payment processing statements and initiate proposals accordingly.
- Follow up with potential merchants by reviewing products, services features, benefits, and terms.
- Close sales in a timely and effective manner.
- Develop and maintain new lead sources; build relationships with referrals and affiliates.
- Create and develop marketing programs to increase sales.
- Develop new sales opportunities within the existing client base.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.; E‑Verify employer.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in Business, Administration, Communications, Finance, or related field preferred.
- 2–3 years of sales and/or customer service experience required.
- Previous experience in the merchant service industry is an asset.
- Strong communication, critical‑thinking, detail‑oriented, and analytical skills.
- Self‑motivated, results‑driven, and able to work independently.
