Senior Product Specialist, Retail Sales – Canvas Custom Indexing

O’Shaughnessy Asset Management (OSAM) is owned by Franklin Templeton and operates as an independent Specialist Investment Manager based in Stamford. OSAM is a research and money‑management firm that offers Custom Indexing services via CANVAS®, a platform that provides financial advisors with control over client portfolios in separately managed accounts. Advisors can create custom investment templates, use factor and passive strategies, manage taxes, and apply ESG/SRI screens according to client needs.
Responsibilities- Partner with Franklin Templeton’s generalist sales team to promote sales to wirehouse, independent, bank, and regional financial advisors.
- Be an expert on direct indexing and custom indexing.
- Collaborate effectively with OSAM Client Service, Portfolio Management, Operations, Technology, and Relationship Management teams.
Key measurement of success is raising assets within the assigned territory. The role is also evaluated on subject‑matter expertise and ability to work collaboratively across OSAM and Franklin Templeton.
Qualifications- Demonstrated success selling to financial advisors.
- Excellent communicator, comfortable with main‑stage presentations.
- Deep understanding of direct and custom indexing and the competitive landscape.
- Comfortable explaining advanced technological solutions.
- Passion for collaborating with financial advisors and improving their businesses.
- Keen curiosity and ability to understand investment process details.
- Experience with SMAs.
- Effective facilitator of innovation.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
- Preferred location: major city within the Central US (e.g., Chicago).
- Travel expectations: 25‑50%.
The salary range for this position is $141,000 – $174,000, with additional compensation such as discretionary bonuses, a 401(k) plan, health insurance, and other benefits.
