Product Manager

Sprocket Sports is a rapidly growing technology company based in Chicago that is quickly emerging as a national leader in the youth sports marketplace. Our software and services help clubs streamline operations, reduce expenses and accelerate growth – freeing them up from the business of running a club so they can focus on what really matters: kids playing sports!

We are currently seeking a Product Manager to join our Team. The ideal candidate has a passion for youth sports and creating best-in-class software applications that will be used by thousands of youth sports club administrators, coaches, parents and players.

The Sprocket Sports Product Manager plays a key role in defining and delivering product strategy by balancing user needs, business goals, and technical execution. This role is responsible for shaping the direction of our youth sports club management platform and ensuring it delivers meaningful, reliable, and user-centric outcomes.

The Product Manager works closely with Software Developers, Product Analysts, operational stakeholders, customers, and partners to prioritize roadmap features and lead the definition of new capabilities through expertly crafted business requirement documents. This role will lead through influence in the technical space but will need to pivot between business, operations and technology teams. We are seeking individuals who like to think creatively and have a passion for finding the best possible solution to meet a customer’s needs.

Product Strategy and Roadmap

• Collaborate with internal teams and external clients to prioritize and maintain the product development roadmap.
• Partner closely with other Product Managers and Developers to define future product direction.
• Evaluate market trends and competitive products to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Provide input on new technologies and trends to help shape long-term product strategy.

Product Development and Delivery

• Gather and refine requirements from operations, clients, and internal stakeholders.
• Document and present user stories and product specifications to convey new product initiatives to internal and external stakeholders.
• Oversee development teams and manage the execution and delivery of new platform features and functionality.

Communication and Stakeholder Alignment

• Communicate clearly and consistently about the product areas that you own.
• Share product plans, progress, and outcomes with internal and external stakeholders.
• Participate in product demos, sprint reviews, and planning sessions.

Quality and Issue Management

• Test new product features to ensure new functionality is delivered without defects.
• Own the ongoing management, prioritization, and resolution of platform issues for your specified product areas.
• Partner with Software Developers, Product Analysts, and Operations to drive timely issue resolution.

• Bachelor's degree and 7+ years professional experience as a product manager of a consumer-facing application.
• Experience owning the full cycle of a product management process from concept to delivery.
• Ability to work on multiple projects during a release cycle.
• Strong communication, written, presentation, and interpersonal skills; ability to analytically defend design decisions and take feedback without ego.
• Strong attention to detail and accountability.
