Citi Commercial Bank | Business Development Specialist, VP

The Cash Product Salesperson is a driven professional role that will lead treasury opportunities, with a focus on new client acquisition across all industry verticals. As the business grows, this role is integral to both expanding wallet share with existing clients and rapidly acquiring new clients. The person will be a subject matter expert for the full suite of Treasury Solutions (Cash, Cards, Trade) across all industry segments within the North American Commercial Bank and will attend pipeline meetings, providing input on current opportunities.

The role also involves presenting best practices and sales disciplines to the wider CCB Banking community and applicable partners. The candidate should integrate subject matter and industry expertise across relevant sectors, including disrupter verticals in the early-stage company life cycle, and coordinate with the function’s and business objectives. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are essential, especially at escalation points, with the ability to influence decisions through advice and facilitation of services in the area of specialization.

Work and performance of all teams in the area are directly affected by the performance of the individual.

Responsibilities
  • Interface with a prospective client to understand operating procedures, organizational structures, and needs, to identify and propose Citi solutions
  • Collaborate with Sales and Coverage partners to focus on revenue expansion and cross-sell opportunities
  • Identify and coordinate new cross-sell opportunities with Coverage Partners
  • Build and maintain an effective network, including close collaboration with overseas Citibank branches
  • Responsible for monthly win/loss analysis ensuring MIS systems are in place
  • Support a culture of responsible finance, governance, ethics, and expense discipline
  • Be responsible for an individual win goal in excess of $2 million annually
  • Articulate complex ideas and analytics succinctly and create conceptual frameworks
  • Understand innovations and disruptive technologies in the corporate treasury space
  • Deeply understand client trends in liquidity, payments, working capital, risk management, and treasury technology, and translate them into business impact
  • Strong knowledge of the TTS and CCB cash management business, revenue drivers, and products
  • Use data and analysis to drive toward business objectives
  • Challenge conventional thinking, own problems, and drive solutions with cross-functional collaboration
  • Demonstrate strong self-motivation and ability to gain consensus on priorities and drive initiatives
Qualifications
  • 5 years of relevant Treasury Services experience
  • Proven track record of client-focused activity and ability to design best-in-class Treasury proposals
  • Strong relationship and client management
  • Strong problem solving and interpersonal skills
  • Committed, trusted team player with high energy and initiative
  • Efficient time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to deliver presentations and communicate effectively, including via virtual platforms
  • Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, and analytical skills
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s degree, Master’s a plus
