OverviewResponsible for coordinating facility-related maintenance, repairs and replacements for Hannaford retail and corporate facilities. Our flexible/ hybrid work schedule includes 3 in-person days at one of our core locations and 2 remote days. Our core office locations include Salisbury, NC, Chicago, IL, Quincy, MA, Carlisle, PA, Scarborough, ME, Hyattsville, MD and Mauldin, SC.
Responsibilities- Acts as a liaison between retail stores and service vendors on facility-related service and maintenance issues. Processes phone, email and computer-entered requests for service in a timely manner to ensure that stores are safe, compliant and fully operational to serve customers.
- Processes requests for service at corporate facilities to keep the facilities safe, compliant and in working order.
- Based on an assessment of the situation, determine whether a service technician/contractor is required, and dispatch the appropriate service technician/contractor as needed.
- Reviews, negotiates, and approves maintenance and repair invoices up to $3,000.
- Follows proper accounting procedures including such things as account numbers, location numbers and whether or not to capitalize expenses. This will improve business efficiency and help in maintaining expenses at or under budget.
- Ensures safety procedures and standard operating procedures are followed. Complies with all Auditing Procedure reports identified in the Facilities Services Overview of Systems Procedures.
- Effectively communicates the sequence of activities that will resolve the issue and provides status updates as appropriate.
- Maintains technical expertise in several trade/equipment categories (e.g., electrical, refrigeration, balers, ovens, etc.).
- Assists in development of accurate and attainable repair expense budgets and forecasts for retail facilities.
- Investigates refrigeration alarms on the Building Automation System and addresses as needed. Makes changes to lighting schedules at retail locations when needed.
- Monitors "After Hour and Weekend" repair activities in the tracking system, and communicates to Store Managers procedures that will improve the process and reduce overtime costs.
- Sets-up documents in appropriate systems, and monitors invoices to completion on all non-construction capital projects, including approving invoices up to $3,000.
- Provides Expense Payables with period and year-end accrual estimates for repair and non-construction capital accounts.
- Reviews tracking systems to identify and recommend capital systems and equipment for the Maintenance Replacement budget and the scope of work for major Remodels.
- Ensures vendors and contractors are properly insured and SOX procedures for all new vendors are implemented.
- Reviews the department's tracking systems to identify, prioritize and troubleshoot cost effective ways to address service needs and achieve repair expense budgets.
- Coordinates the efforts of Design Services, Purchasing, and service vendors with concerns of retail to ensure timely, safe and effective preventative maintenance and repairs.
- High school diploma.
- Solid working knowledge of interior maintenance issues, repairs, contract bidding and negotiations relative to areas of responsibility.
- Proficient in Excel and Word applications.
- Basic accounting knowledge.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly developed organizational and analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with excellent follow-up and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of financial impact of activities on company and ability to communicate same.
- Maintain a courteous disposition in stressful situations.
- Versatile and able to learn new processes and technical subject matter.
- Able to adapt to changing priorities.
ME/NC/PA/SC Salary Range:$16.97 - $25.44
