Position OverviewThe Corporate Event Captain serves as the on the ground leader for our distinguished corporate events, ensuring every detail unfolds seamlessly from arrival to farewell. Acting as both a gracious host and a precise operations lead, this role bridges the client’s vision with our team’s expertise - delivering an event that reflects our reputation for excellence.
Key Responsibilities Event Leadership & Execution- Serve as the primary on site liaison for corporate clients, executives, and VIP guests.
- Lead the operational flow of meetings, conferences, and receptions to ensure an effortless guest experience.
- Coordinate with culinary, beverage, and operations teams to guarantee event readiness.
- Maintain precise timing of service, presentations, and transitions in alignment with the client’s approved timeline and agenda.
- Team assignment prep and distribution
- Inspire and direct a team of banquet servers, bartenders, and support staff, fostering a culture of service excellence.
- Conduct pre-event briefings to ensure clarity, preparedness, and alignment with brand standards.
- Provide in-the-moment coaching to maintain consistency, professionalism, and guest satisfaction.
- Greet and personally attend to clients and key stakeholders, ensuring confidence in every aspect of the event.
- Anticipate needs and resolve challenges discreetly, protecting the seamless guest experience.
- Adapt swiftly to last-minute changes while preserving the event’s flow and integrity.
- Uphold high standards and always present in a professional and polished manner.
- Oversee efficient breakdown, reset, and safe storage of equipment and furnishings.
- Collaborate with the Events team on post-event evaluations and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Assist with inventory of housewares in the building each month to ensure the team has the necessary tools to succeed.
- Assist with any additional inventory needs as directed by superiors
- Attend weekly BEO meetings to understand all outlined events and details required for the execution of clients needs and vision.
- 3+ years of experience leading high-end corporate or banquet events.
- Deep understanding of premium service etiquette and corporate client expectations.
- Impeccable communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Composure and professionalism under pressure.
- Flexible availability, including early mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays as event schedules require. With an understanding of when most typical corporate functions occur.
- Experience as a bartender is desired but not required.
- Experience as a server is required
- Experience with Toast, Triple Seat, and Canva is desired
- Bilingual Spanish is preferred but not required
- Monday - Thursday is a typical work week but days outside of this are required when booked by clients.
- Typical work weeks range from 24-36 hours a week with exceptions on either side for very slow or very busy weeks.
- Understanding of slow and busy season in addition to busy and slow weeks therein
- $28-32 hr plus tips
