A Sustainability Compliance Manager will lead the organization’s environmental regulatory strategy and execution, ensuring full compliance with emerging climate disclosure and packaging waste regulations. Primary focus will be on California’s SB 253 and SB 261, which mandate public reporting of greenhouse gas emissions and climate-related financial risks, and on Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) laws impacting packaging waste across multiple jurisdictions.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement compliance frameworks for SB 253 and SB 261, including Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions inventories and biennial climate risk disclosures aligned with TCFD or IFRS S2 standards.
  • Coordinate cross-functional data collection and reporting to meet California Air Resources Board (CARB) deadlines, ensuring third-party assurance and audit readiness.
  • Monitor and manage EPR obligations across applicable states, including registration with Producer Responsibility Organizations (PROs), packaging data reporting, and fee forecasting.
  • Engage with regulatory bodies and industry groups to stay ahead of evolving legislation and advocate for practical, industry-aligned compliance solutions.
  • Drive continuous improvement in environmental performance and transparency, positioning the company as a responsible leader in the alcohol industry.
  • Advise internal stakeholders on sustainable packaging design, recyclability, and cost implications under eco-modulation fee structures.
  • Review and maintain SB 253 & SB 261 compliance and EPR programs through governance processes.
Key Metrics & Financial Targets
  • Reporting compliance for EUCSRD, CASB
    219, CTA, & all US based State annual reporting.
  • Board Meeting oversight, reporting and retention for all US entities.
  • Governance advisory services to international BUs.
Qualifications
  • Regulatory Expertise:
    Strong grasp of SB 253, SB 261, and EPR laws, including emissions and packaging compliance.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting:
    Skilled in gathering and reporting environmental data (Scope 1–3, packaging) using recognized standards.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    Effective at working with legal, finance, operations, and supply chain to ensure compliance.
  • Strategic Thinking &

    Risk Management:

    Able to assess regulatory risks and align sustainability goals with business strategy.
Compensation

Compensation offered to prospective Team Members has taken internal equity into consideration and can vary depending on a positions’ location. The final agreed upon wage may vary based on the job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the individual.

  • Competitive annual salary from $102,000 to $127,000, based in Chicago, IL
