The Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for delivering high-quality front office support and patient care services. Key responsibilities include greeting patients, scheduling initial evaluations and follow-up appointments, answering and directing phone calls, maintaining an organized front office environment, and accurately utilizing required software systems. The role also ensures that all statistical data is tracked and kept current. A strong work ethic, attention to detail, effective multitasking, time-management skills, and a friendly, compassionate demeanor are essential.
EssentialJob Functions
- Assist patients in preparation for treatment, including completion of required paperwork, review of financial responsibilities, and obtaining authorizations.
- Document in medical records as needed and ensure all data is accurate and updated.
- Enter personal statistics and required data accurately.
- Answer, transfer, and document phone calls; take detailed messages when appropriate.
- Provide updates to referring clinics and workers’ compensation carriers, including progress reports.
- Manage prescription log in the EMR system.
- Maintain clinic schedule, and schedule/reschedule patient appointments as needed.
- All other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or Equivalency required.
- Minimum of 2 years of clerical experience in a related field.
- Proficiency in Google Work spaces and Microsoft Office.
- Hearing:
Adequate to perform job duties in person and over the telephone. - Speaking:
Must be able to communicate clearly to patients in person and over the telephone. - Vision:
Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including visual examination of patient and reading information from printed sources and computer screens. - Other:
Requires frequent lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted. Requires frequent bending, reaching, repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting and sitting, regularly throughout a regular work shift. Requires exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
Working Conditions:
