OverviewComp Tech is seeking a Records Management Specialist III in support of our customer, the EPA.
The Records Management Specialist III provides technical and administrative support for records and docket management programs under the direction of a Records/Information Manager. This position supports the organization, maintenance, and accessibility of physical and electronic records to ensure compliance with federal records management policies and procedures. The specialist utilizes automated information systems to manage records collections, respond to inquiries, and support ongoing records management initiatives.
WorkScope
- Provide support for records and docket management operations in accordance with established federal and organizational records management policies.
- Utilize automated information systems such as the Federal Docket Management System (FDMS), Superfund Enterprise Management System (SEMS), Enterprise Content Management System (ECMS), Institutional Control Tracking System (ICTS), and other regional or national records management systems.
- Maintain, organize, and manage physical and electronic records collections to ensure proper indexing, storage, and accessibility.
- Perform records maintenance activities including filing, tracking, cataloging, and retrieval of documents and case materials.
- Respond to internal and external inquiries related to records, dockets, or document retrieval requests.
- Review and input metadata to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency across records management systems.
- Assist with analysis of records or docket management issues and support development of strategies to address program needs.
- Support records management program planning, documentation, and operational improvements.
- Ensure records are maintained, retained, and disposed of in accordance with federal records management requirements and approved retention schedules.
- Assist in preparing reports, documentation, and summaries related to records management activities.
- Perform routine maintenance of records management equipment and systems as needed.
- Coordinate with program staff to support records access, compliance, and information management needs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in records management, docket management, or related information management functions.
- Experience using at least one automated records or information management system.
- Certification from the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) or related records management certification is desirable.
- Experience supporting federal records management programs or working with government information systems.

- $55,000 – $65,000 annually + benefits, PTO, 401k+matching
