Northwestern University is seeking a temporary Program Assistant, Alumni and Donor Relations for the Chicago campus.
TemporaryJob Description
The Temporary Program Assistant will provide administrative support for alumni engagement activities related to Alumni Weekend 2026 preparation, execution, and wrap-up.
Tasks include assisting with mail merges (Word); formatting digital and printed documents; executing mailings; look-ups/queries in the organizational CRM; creation and preparation of Excel spreadsheets; data entry; list management; and data clean-up, as well as assembling event materials, expense reports, scheduling, and calendar management.
Approximately 10% of the time will be assigned to working with the Feinberg School of Medicine Donor Relations team on donor stewardship, recognition, and other activities related to Alumni Weekend 2026. In addition to those outlined above, tasks related to this part of the role include proofing and editing reports and letters, as well as donor recognition and stewardship database updates.
May assist with other writing, editing, and project management tasks, report layout, finding photos, etc.
- Bachelor's degree
- One year in business administration, data management, or administrative support role
- Strong data management skills (collection, analysis, distribution, maintenance) and experience with modern database and information system technologies.
- Project management skills and demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including advanced use of Word, Outlook, and especially Excel.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including experience and comfort level interacting with members of the public, such as medical school alumni and donors, and experience composing written materials and proofing to a high level of accuracy.
- Experience demonstrating exceptional attention to detail.
