About the RoleWe’re seeking an experienced Fractional Controller or CPA to support a growing real estate investment platform with corporate-level accounting, investor reporting, and audit support.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on accounting oversight, rolled‑up financial reporting, cash visibility, and creating structure in a growing investment business.
After the initial engagement, you may serve as a trusted backstop, providing periodic reviews and guidance as needed.
Responsibilities Accounting Oversight- Own and improve the corporate‑level accounting and reporting process
- Review rolled‑up financials across entities for accuracy and consistency
- Support month‑end and quarter‑end close processes
- Help maintain clean, reliable financial statements and supporting schedules
- Improve visibility into liquidity and cash flow at the corporate level
- Document processes to support a more repeatable accounting function
- Prepare and review investor reporting packages
- Support reporting to joint venture partners and institutional stakeholders
- Interface directly with external auditors and help coordinate audit requests
- Prepare reconciliations, schedules, and support files for audits and year‑end reporting
- Help ensure the books and reporting are organized, defensible, and audit‑ready
- Support K‑1 readiness and coordination with outside accounting firms
- Review accounting policies and the Chart of Accounts
- Recommend improvements to strengthen financial accuracy and reporting consistency
- Provide oversight and structure to the client’s internal accounting processes
- Help onboard new entities or properties into a clean reporting structure
- Optional periodic review and guidance after initial setup
- Active CPA certification
- Strong background in accrual accounting, month‑end close, and controller‑level reporting
- Experience with investor reporting is required
- Experience interfacing with audits is required
- Comfortable reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements
- Confident communicating with executives, investors, auditors, and advisory teams
- Strong executive‑level written and verbal communication skills
- Detail‑oriented, reliable, and self‑directed execution style
- Ability to independently analyze problems and develop practical solutions
- Comfortable managing client interactions, including participating in or leading client calls when required
- Maintain appropriate availability and responsiveness during the engagement period
