Staff / Senior Accountant
Hybrid | Newly Created Role Due to Growth
OverviewA fast‑growing, privately held manufacturing platform is hiring a Staff / Senior Accountant to support continued expansion across a complex, multi‑entity structure. This is a newly created role driven by growth and increased transaction volume.
The position reports directly to the Director of Accounting and offers broad exposure across month‑end close, consolidations, treasury, and operational accounting. This is an ideal opportunity for a strong accounting “player” who enjoys ownership, visibility, and working in a lean, high‑impact environment.
Why This Role Stands Out- High visibility — direct reporting line to the Director of Accounting
- Lean finance team — immediate impact, not a back‑office cog
- Broad scope — month‑end close, reporting, treasury support, consolidations, and special projects
- Growth environment — ongoing acquisitions and expanding operations
- Upward mobility — role designed to grow with the organization
- Hybrid & flexible schedule
- Initial onboarding: 4 days in‑office
- Long‑term: typically 3 days in / 2 days remote (flexible)
- Small Chicago office — CFO, VP of Finance, and Director of Accounting on‑site
- 401(k) with 4% match
- Base salary: $90,000 – $105,000
- Bonus: 10% annual target
- Own month‑end close activities across multiple legal entities
- Prepare and post journal entries (accruals, prepaids, intercompany, etc.)
- Support consolidations, intercompany reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Assist with cash movement, treasury activities, and cash flow forecasting
- Maintain books for administrative and real estate entities
- Support internal controls, audit readiness, and documentation
- Partner cross‑functionally with operations across multiple business units
- Identify and help streamline highly manual processes
- Participate in special projects tied to growth and acquisitions
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 2–3+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong month‑end close and general ledger experience in multi‑entity environments
- Public accounting background or a mix of public + corporate strongly preferred
- Manufacturing exposure a plus (cost accounting, inventory, WIP, treasury)
- Experience with consolidations, intercompany accounting, and cash management
- CPA or CPA‑eligible with active progression preferred
- Comfortable operating in fast‑moving, ambiguous environments
- Process‑improvement mindset; not afraid to challenge the status quo
- Strong communicator; dependable, proactive, and able to work independently
- This team is looking for someone who naturally takes ownership, sees what needs to be done, and elevates the people around them.
