TEC Group is partnering with a growing construction company in Chicago (located near the White Sox stadium) that is looking to add a Senior Accountant to their team. This role works closely with finance leadership and supports daily accounting operations, payroll coordination, and the monthly close process.
Responsibilities- Support daily accounting operations including accounts payable, payroll coordination, and general ledger activity
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Assist with weekly payroll processing, including union payroll and compliance documentation
- Support month-end and quarter-end close, financial reporting, and audits
- Review vendor invoices, manage payments, and resolve vendor inquiries
- Assist with certified payroll, regulatory filings, and external reporting requirements
- Serve as a key accounting contact for internal systems and help identify process improvements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Experience in accounting operations, payroll, and general ledger functions
- Construction industry experience strongly preferred
- Familiarity with union payroll and payroll compliance is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
