Accounting Specialist

About the Role - The Accounting Specialist plays a critical role in managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and subscription billing operations. This position ensures the accuracy of financial transactions, supports month‑end close activities, and contributes to strong cash flow management and internal controls. This role is ideal for a hands‑on accounting professional who thrives in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.

• Own and manage subscription billing processes, ensuring accurate invoicing based on contract terms and pricing structures
• Prepare and issue customer invoices in a timely manner
• Process and reconcile customer payments, maintaining accurate customer account records
• Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on overdue accounts
• Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, unapplied payments, and customer account issues

• Process vendor invoices, ensuring proper coding, approval, and supporting documentation
• Schedule and execute vendor payments in accordance with payment terms
• Review and reconcile accounts payable transactions to ensure accuracy
  
  Resolve discrepancies with vendors and internal stakeholders
• Maintain deferred revenue schedules and support revenue recognition processes
• Reconcile subscription billing system to the general ledger
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations related to cash and AR accounts
• Assist in month‑end and year‑end close activities, ensuring accurate recording of financial transactions

• Partner with Sales and Customer Success to ensure accurate billing for contract changes and renewals
• Provide timely, professional, and accurate responses to customer inquiries regarding invoices, payments, and account status.
• Additional duties and responsibilities may be requested based on company need

• 3+ years of experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, or general accounting
• Experience with subscription or SaaS billing strongly preferred
• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, Sage, etc.)
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Strong communication and problem‑solving skills
