Bookkeeper

Description We are seeking a skilled Bookkeeper to join our team on a contract basis in Chicago, Illinois. In this role, you will oversee essential accounting functions and ensure the accuracy of financial records. This position is ideal for professionals with strong organizational skills and at least two years of experience in bookkeeping.

Responsibilities:

- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.

- Perform bank reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.

- Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger.

- Execute month-end closing procedures and generate monthly financial statements.

- Monitor daily cash flow and provide financial insights.

- Utilize automated payroll systems, such as Paycom, for effective payroll processing.

- Ensure compliance with audit standards and regulatory requirements.

- Work with Microsoft Great Plains Solomon software to maintain financial data.

- Assist with financial reporting and analysis to support business decisions. Requirements - Minimum of two years of bookkeeping experience in a detail-oriented environment.

- Proficiency in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.

- Strong knowledge of general ledger management and journal entries.

- Experience in month-end close and preparing financial statements.

- Familiarity with automated payroll systems, such as Paycom.

- Understanding of audit and compliance practices.

- Ability to work with Microsoft Great Plains Solomon software.

- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
