Staff Accountant
$65,000 to $80,000

Responsibilities

  • Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files as well as reconciling accounts.
  • Participates in continuous improvement of accounting process and procedures.
  • Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
  • Manage timely Month End Close Process.
  • Prepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, and statement of cash flows.
  • Reconciles bank accounts monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
  • Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts.
  • Maintains and balances and automated consolidation system by inputting data.
  • Analyzes information and options by developing spreadsheet reports.
  • Sales and payroll tax filing and compliance in Avalara.
  • Review expense reports and process them within the expense platform by approving and importing into accounting system.
  • Prepare monthly commissions for in house sales staff and outside representatives.
  • Maintain and update accurate record of inventory in the financial system.
  • Assist with payroll administration duties, including payroll journal entry
  • Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and best practices.

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or related field is required.
  • 2+ years of experience in General Accounting
  • Knowledge of general financial accounting.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Proficiency in Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Experience in A2000 ERP is preferred but not required.
  • Experience in Avalara is preferred but not required.
  • Experience with general ledger accounting and financial statement preparation is essential.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with team members.
