Payroll Specialist

A growing company is seeking a Payroll Specialist for a 6-month temporary assignment with the potential to transition into a permanent role based on business needs and performance. This position is fully onsite in Chicago and offers a pay rate of $25–$35 per hour. The team is currently experiencing an increase in workload and is looking for additional support in payroll and accounting operations.

• Process payroll in compliance with applicable regulations
• Support accounts payable functions
• Assist with required payroll reporting and documentation
• Ensure adherence to wage and labor requirements as needed
• Maintain accurate payroll records and tracking reports
• Utilize Excel for data management and reporting
• Provide support on various ongoing projects

• Payroll certification required
• At least 2 years of relevant payroll or accounting experience
• Familiarity with compliance and wage regulations
• Strong Excel skills, including reporting and data analysis
• Experience with accounting or payroll systems preferred
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
