Senior Director, Assistant Controller

Metropolis is seeking an Assistant Controller to play a key leadership role in the execution of corporate accounting operations. The Assistant Controller is the executional builder — responsible for standing up core accounting processes, leading the close, and operationalizing the Controller’s vision. This role is about turning strategy into scalable processes.

• Close Leadership:
  Own monthly/quarterly close activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and scalability.
• Process Build:
  Design and implement new policies, controls, and workflows (GAAP/IFRS, revenue recognition, consolidations).
• Systems & Tools:
  Drive automation/AI adoption in reconciliations, reporting, and consolidation.
• Talent Development:
  Build and mentor a growing accounting team, instilling accountability and high performance.
• Partnering:
  Work closely with cross-functional leads (Tax, Treasury, FP&A, Operations) to ensure data integrity and reporting accuracy.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required.
• 12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including team leadership.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge (GAAP/IFRS) and consolidation experience.
• Proven track record of implementing process improvements and leveraging technology/automation.
• Hands-on leader who has built close-to-reporting processes in complex environments.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and building from ground up.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across cultures and geographies.

The anticipated base salary for this position is $ USD to $ USD annually. The actual base salary offered is determined by a number of variables, including qualifications, experience, skills, education, and location. Base salary is one component of Metropolis’s total compensation package, which may also include healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan, disability coverage, life insurance, stock options, bonus plans and more.
