We’re working with a growing, nationally recognized real estate and property development firm to find a dynamic Property Accounting Manager to join their Chicago-based team. This is a highly visible leadership role overseeing property-level financial reporting, variance analysis, and third-party accounting partners — with the opportunity to mentor others and drive meaningful improvements in financial processes.

• 8+ years of accounting experience in real estate or a related industry
• 1–3 years in a supervisory or team lead role
• Strong GAAP knowledge and comfort working across multiple stakeholders
• CPA or Master’s degree preferred
• Experience with systems like Yardi or Entrata is a plus
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities

• Oversee and review monthly financial reporting and journal entries across a diverse real estate portfolio
• Lead and mentor a team of accountants and third-party partners
• Collaborate with asset management, operations, and joint venture teams to ensure clean, timely financials
• Provide variance analysis, budget support, and lender reporting
• Manage accounting for acquisitions, dispositions, and sold properties
• Identify and implement process improvements to elevate accuracy and efficiency
• Review reconciliations and compliance with GAAP and internal SOPs
