SUMMARY OF POSITIONAs a senior member of Barr Funding’s accounting staff, you will participate in group accounting work, individual accounting work, client call relationships and assist with supervision of junior accounting staff and interns. You will work on long-term and short-term projects, as well as day-to-day activities in support of our accounting functions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Accounting- Perform accounting functions as assigned including, but not limited to, data input, reconciliation, and analysis of transactions and accounts assigned on a daily/weekly/monthly basis;
- Perform daily/weekly cash and security position reconciliations and treasury functions;
- Produce monthly analytics, accounting packages and ad-hoc reports;
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations; and
- Prepare daily cash journal entries and monthly general ledger accounts and reconciliation.
- Assist in preparing assigned schedules for the annual and interim audits of customers;
- Assist with external audits and examinations; and
- Complete requested reports.
- Experience working with various loan management systems and Banking/Cash preferred; and
- Coordinate and resolve various issues with the bank such as cleared check differences, bank fee anomalies, targeted balance calculations and enhancements to online services.
- Preparing monthly and quarterly reports for management team;
- Discussing findings with CEO
Other Tasks, As Assigned By Management.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Strong analytical and accounting skills;
- Advanced skill with Microsoft Word, and Outlook/Gmail;
- Minimum 4 years Microsoft Excel required (including Vlookup and pivot tables);
- Working knowledge of Quick Books with minimum 5 years experience required;
- Microsoft Power Bi: 2 years (Preferred)
- Management: 3 years (Preferred)
- Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment;
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and as part of a team;
- Be able to train other staff; and
- Ability to supervise interns;
- CPA (Preferred).
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.A) in Accounting or equivalent from an accredited college/ university.
- 4 - 5 years’ experience in accounting.

- Office located in Chicago’s Loop (across from the “Bean” on Michigan Avenue).
- Relaxed dress code.
Fulltime, on-site in Downtown Chicago. NOT REMOTE. Must be within commuting distance or relocate prior to job start date, for daily in-office position
SALARY RANGE$76,000 - $85,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
